Hard Times?

The great Studs Terkel wrote one of his oral histories on the Great Depression. I wonder what he would think or write about our Great Recession. My friends, Joe and Barry, whom I talked with separately today, seem to have reached new lows in their individual recoveries from losing their good jobs 10 years ago. One at 63, must get back into the workforce and Barry is broke and homeless. Un generation perdue. We need a revolution, but one cohort is in the ICU.
